Your typed wishes inside Legacy Capsule are not, by themselves, a legally executed will in most jurisdictions. We help you compose, store and securely deliver your will to your executor — but you should have a properly witnessed legal document where your jurisdiction requires one. We're building toward solicitor-assisted will execution as a paid add-on.

You nominate an executor and a small set of trusted verifiers. When the executor initiates a release request, each verifier confirms independently via a secure one-time email link. Once your configured threshold of confirmations is met, a 7-day owner-override window opens (we email and alert you in-app). If you don't cancel, the vault is released.

Account access can be recovered via email. However, the secret notes and passwords stored under your zero-knowledge passphrase are encrypted in your browser — we cannot decrypt them without that passphrase. We'll always be honest about this trade-off: zero-knowledge means truly private, but irrecoverable if forgotten. We recommend writing the passphrase down and placing it with your will.

Only you. Beneficiaries receive only the specific items you assigned to them, only after a verified release. Verifiers never see vault contents — only the confirmation request. Executors see administrative information you grant them: documents, account locations and instructions.

Yes. Schedule a video, audio or letter for a specific date — a child's 18th, a grandchild's wedding, a graduation. They're held back until the date and only delivered after your vault has been released.

You can export everything at any time. On account closure, we permanently delete your vault and revoke all grants. You decide whether to forward materials to your executor first.

On encrypted, redundant infrastructure operated by our cloud provider. We never sell your data and never use vault contents to train AI. Full details are in our privacy policy.
